Paula Annas, Health Coach
Meet Health Coach Paula
Hi, I’m Paula, busy wife and mom of two beautiful girls and a full-time Corporate Training Specialist for the last 18 years. I have a heart for teaching and watching individuals I work with be successful and flourish. As a Certified Health Coach, I have the humble opportunity to educate others and inspire positive changes on the most important aspect of their life…their health.
A little bit about me….I have a family history of heart disease, rheumatoid arthritis and diabetes so health has always been important to me. I fixed what I considered healthy meals for my family most of the time and when I didn’t have time to cook on days our girls had their extracurricular activities, we would grab a bite to eat at the local drive-thru. My interest in clean eating began in 2015 when I wanted to lose weight and feel better about myself. I exercised yet I didn’t understand why I couldn’t lose weight so I consulted the internet on how to shed pounds without dieting, taking pills or drinking shakes. I realized the foods I thought were healthy were actually some of the worst foods for my family’s overall health.
My discoveries led to a new way of eating and living life. I knew I had to take simple steps and make small changes or I might start a war inside my own home. We ate more fresh, whole foods, less processed foods and made conscious and mindful decisions when we did go out to eat. As a result, I’ve seen a loss in weight, reduced joint pain, and our family has had less doctor visits than we have had in the past several years.
I considered pursuing a health coach certification for a couple of years but it wasn’t until January 2018 when my Dad was hospitalized that I made the decision to enroll in the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute program. My family means the world to me and my Dad is the first man in my life to love me unconditionally. I knew in my heart that I had the opportunity to help him and other family members in restoring their wellness and vitality. That passion has grown deeper and I want nothing more than to give people the tools they need to realize their potential for a healthier lifestyle through improved eating habits, movement, self-confidence and nourishing gradual, realistic change.
